Interest Groups

Interest groups which meet as part of Seattle Branch may be continuing or of short duration.  Members may form an interest group at any time, but each group must provide its own leader.

Friends and relatives who are not members are welcome to participate in AAUW interest groups, but the Association regulations require that anyone who is eligible for AAUW membership must join if participating in a group.  Those who are not eligible for membership and wish to attend an interest group must pay an annual fee. Please consult your copy of the Catalyst for contact information for the hostesses or e-mail interestgroups@aauw-seattle.org.

Stitchery – Under the leadership of Helen Shannon.  These women join together for needlework projects and enjoying each other's company.   It meets nine months, but not June, July or August. We have made three special banners for the Seattle Branch over the years including for our 100th Anniversary. Call Helen for the location, date and time. Everyone is invited!

New Members Group--If you are interested in meeting and getting together with other new members contact Interest Group Chair Cynthia Sheridan at interestgroups@aauw-seattle.org

Twice Told Tales [Daytime book club] – Meets the second Tuesday of the month from September through May at the Lake City Public Library at 1:00 PM.  In September the group met to discuss favorite reads and choose books for the upcoming year.  Contact Pat Foss for details.

Three of our Interest Groups are not currently active:  The Bridge Group, Wild Women Walking and Women in Film.  Members are encouraged to contact Interest Group Chair Cynthia Sheridan if interested in reviving or starting a new group.

AAUW’s ˇAdelante! Book of the Month Club - This is an individual book club where you can read the same book as many others will. Perhaps we can have a discussion at each table during brunch before the Branch meetings if enough of us read that month’s selection.   Books are available through a direct link through Association - check out this year's book list.
